Supplies Needed

  1. Polystyrene Sheets.
  2. Adhesive.
  3. Non-Sanded grout.
  4. Acrylic nontoxic sealant.
  5. Nontoxic colored sand.
  6. Tetra Repto filter.
  7. Nails.
  8. Knife.

Instructions

  1. There are 3 pieces required to complete your rain forest theme waterfall. i) Base piece ii) pond piece where water rests iii) camouflage helmet piece which covers your Tetra Repto filter.
  2. Rock piece: Add two equal sized polystyrene pieces with a pin and shape its edges to form rock piece.
  3. Pond piece: Using a knife cut polystyrene sheet in the shape which looks likes pond. Cut the sheets into many two- and half-inch rectangular pieces. Place the rectangular pieces over the pond piece and pin it using nails. Place some rock pieces at the base of the pond piece and glue it.
  4. Base Piece: Place the pond piece over a polystyrene sheet; mark its edges on the sheet. Extend certain end by half inch for placing the camouflaging helmet piece over it. Break and shape the other sides of base piece using your hand. Place more rock pieces on the base piece and glue it.
  5. Camouflaging Helmet piece: Place long rectangular pieces of Polystyrene Sheets covering the filter height and width. You can keep some rock pieces on helmet pieces for decoration.
  6. Now place your pond piece and camouflage helmet piece over the base piece.
  7. Paint each piece with your non-sanded white grout. Place some grout at the bottom of a camouflage helmet piece to push the water upwards easily.
  8. Fill the gap between your base piece and the pond piece using thick white grout.
  9. Now, paint each piece using nontoxic acrylic paints and allow it to dry for 48 hours. After drying, pour some water into the pond piece for testing leakage.
  10. Mark the waterline in your Pond piece with black paint and remove the water from it using a pump.
  11. Paint your base piece with green paint and the rock pieces with orange and brown paint.
  12. For your inner pond piece use transparent green, mark some illusion in rock piece of camouflage helmet with white paint.
  13. Place some silicone gel on the watery surface of your camouflaging helmet piece.
  14. Finally, put some color sands on the rock pieces of your camouflage helmet piece which looks like sandy rocks. Your rainfall water forest fountain is now ready.
